Male idols best fit for certain roles in Hollywood

Have you ever watched a Hollywood blockbuster and thought to yourself, "Yessss, *insert K-pop idol here* could totally pull off this part!"

There's no denying that Jaejoong has a certain vampirish look with his pale skin and intense glare or that T.O.P looks like an assassin or a spy who could make women swoon while wearing a suit.  Even if Jaejoong were baring scary, pointy vampire teeth at you or T.O.P were pointing a gun at you, you'd probably just kind of stand there in awe.  Maybe even drooling a bit.  That's okay!

So with this mind, check out the ten Korean male idol stars we thought could pull off some of the best known roles in Hollywood!

1. Jaejoong as Edward Cullen (Twilight Saga)

As I said, Jaejoong has a vampirish look.  His skin is pale as if he rarely sees the sun and his eyes (especially heavily lined in eyeliner) look like they could easily suck your soul out.  In the above picture, Jaejoong even looks like he is about to nip his finger. What a vampire tease.  There is definitely a similarity in intensity between these two actors.

2. Jo Kwon as Mr. Chow (Hangover Trilogy)

They're both funny guys.  No one else could be as entertaining and ridiculous as Jo Kwon in the role of the infamous Mr. Chow. It would be quite hilarious!

3. Key as the Joker (The Dark Knight)

Key could play the complicated and trouble making character of the Joker very well. Key is quite mischievous in real life, isn't he?  And he's already so into the role as obvious from his Halloween costume.

4. Donghae as Tony Stark/Iron Man (Iron Man Series)

Donghae looks pretty convincing in that Iron Man costume, although, obviously, the costume isn't quite of the exact same caliber as in the real movies.  However, with the fake beard-stache going on, Donghae looks quite convincingly like Robert Downey Jr. for the role of Tony Stark.  He has the look down, but can he be as sassy and endearingly annoying as the character warrants?  Perhaps.

5. Heechul as Loki (Thor movies)

Heechul has the looks down, as well.  He just needs to slick back his hair and bring out his intense yet slightly loony gaze and he'll be perfect.  I can imagine him smirking like Loki when he finally pulls one over on the Avengers.  Heechul can also pull off the humorous parts without a doubt.

6. Kim Jong Kook as the Hulk (Hulk movies)

Okay, Kim Jong Kook is not really an idol anymore.  He used to be, but not anymore.  But come on, look at those two pictures.  He has the body to be Hulk with very little need for special effects.  Just some green paint.

7. Siwon as Batman (Batman Series)

Siwon has the body as well as the sort of classy, born-rich kind of vibe that Batman exudes.  He could also play the careless, wealthy playboy with his handsome, suave features yet at the same time, you could see Siwon rescuing and never losing hope in the dark, dystopian Gotham city cause he's actually a sweetheart.

8. Lee Joon as Legolas (Lord of the Rings Trilogy)

Lee Joon and Legolas are both adorable when they smile, but they can quickly transform into sexy men as soon as it is time to do some butt-kicking.  Additionally, Lee Joon kind of looks like a pretty elf with that blonde hair.

9. T.O.P as James Bond (James Bond movies)

T.O.P already has the gun-pointing pose and killer looks down.  Plus, he looks good in a suit.  I'm sure once it is time to seduce the Bond girls, T.O.P will be more than able to turn into the suave and mysterious Bond.  James Bond.

10. Kris as Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter movies)

Kris has this sort of smirky look that I think would make him perfectly suited for the rather snooty yet undeniably attractive role of Draco Malfoy.  He has this almost aristocratic appearance that I think could come off appropriately haughty if he were to play the role.  As a matter of fact, I think he would be a more intimidating Draco Malfoy so that when he goes, "Just wait until I tell my father about this," the audience isn't smirking trying to hide scornful laughter but actually . . . kind of shitting their pants.

Obviously there are many other talented male idols who could star in famous Hollywood roles since there are so many of them.  Indiana Jones?  The Scooby-Doo gang?  Who do you think could play certain characters?

Which female idols could act as prominent American TV characters?

We have done which idols fit certain roles in Hollywood and Anime.  Up next is the wonderful world of television!  Likewise, there are many well-known and popular characters so which female idols could act in the Korean versions?  Obviously, the two cultures are widely different so bear with us while we try to make it work.

Check out the list below!

1. Dara as Jess (New Girl)

As a member of the fierce and tough 2NE1, Dara is not always the most girly female idol out there for sure, whereas Jess is a pretty girly character who always wears very cute dresses and high-waisted shorts.  Regardless, the most important thing is that they are both super 4-dimensional characters.  They are weird and interesting to the max, which is why I think Dara would do a good job of portraying the character in the appropriately lovable manner.  Not to mention, both Dara and Zooey Deschanel look way young for their age.  Of course, as Dara would assumably be in the Korean version, it would a very mild version of the show...

2. Bora as Buffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

If you look at the pictures above, both have killer charismatic gazes that are sure to make vampires run for their lives (er, undead lives?).  Bora could definitely play the popular, preppy cheerleader during the day and the merciless vampire slayer during the night.  As usual, she was chosen for her amazing athleticism and charisma.

3. Min as Claire Bennet (Heroes)

Min could also play a cheerleader, like the character Claire Bennet with her amazing regenerative powers.  Both are tough, athletic girls who look good in the tight top and short skirts that normally compose a cheerleading outfit.  I watched bits of the regeneration scenes and it was disgusting, by the way.

4. HyunA as Daisy Duke (Dukes of Hazzard)

Daisy Dukes is the hot woman who looks good in shorts and poses by cars a lot. Well, there is HyunA.  Almost any chance she gets--bam, there is a car for her to look hot next to.  Plus, she is always wearing super short shorts and she does look very good in them with her toned legs.

5. Taeyeon, Sunny, Yuri, and Sooyoung as Piper, Paige, Phoebe, and Prue respectively (Charmed)

I chose Sooyoung as Prue (and yes I know she *spoiler* dies so I am sorry about that) because she has a very mature and respectable vibe that Prue has as the oldest Halliwell sister.  I then chose Taeyeon as Piper because Taeyeon is also mature as the leader and the oldest in Girls' Generation. Piper takes charge after Prue's death, but she has a cuter and more approachable vibe.  As Paige was the cute maknae, I chose Sunny who acts like she's the maknae of the group with her aegyo.  Yuri became Phoebe as both are tough and athletic ladies.

6. Jessica as Daphne (Scooby Doo)

Jessica could be Daphne because both are the pretty redheads who appear both tough and girly.  Generally Daphne is the famed damsel in distress who is always kidnapped by people in monster costumes.  As Jessica played the sort of ditzy 'Legally Blonde' character pretty believably, she could probably do a good job as Daphne, too.

7. CL as Daria (Daria)

Daria is a very witty, sarcastic, and cynical high schooler who does not give a crap what people think about her--which is where I think CL fits right in.  Both are tough ladies internally.  CL does not seem the type to care what other people think about her.  She would play this role down really well; she would just need to tone down the fierceness and go for more a subtle, blunt, and monotone type of feel.  She could perfectly capture Daria's very apathetic facial expression, well.

8. Suzy as Joey Potter (Dawson's Creek)

Suzy is known as South Korea's first love.  Anyone could argue the same for Joey Potter in America.  Both are beautiful and approachable in a very girl-next-door sort of way. They're not very girly and seem pretty realistic and down-to-earth, which is why Suzy could play this part pretty well.  Isn't Suzy known for being pretty in a plain way?  Her beauty does not seem particularly special at first glance, but then you come to realize you can't find her look anywhere else like you may have first thought.  It's the same case with Katie Holmes.  You gradually get drawn in and find them more and more attractive the more you watch over them.  That is a unique charm that would make Suzy perfect for the part of Joey.

Let us know which of your favorite female idols should play a well-known TV character! Stay tuned for the male version next week (suggestions are welcome)!
